How Time Exchanges The Roles of a Parent and Child PIKU #A2ZofBollywood

P FOR PIKU

Piku (2015) is a tale of every child out there taking care of their aging parents, silently and smartly handle all their tantrums and mood swings (reason age factor only) because they know it is our turn to become a strong shoulder for our parents, just like the way they bore all our huffs and temperament during their young days. A responsible child does every possible deed to keep his parents healthy, happy and contented, sometimes in spite of being low, depressed or many hurls he/she even goes beyond the limits to make their parents happy. But never think of living without them or leaving them alone, I feel proud to say this is the beauty of my Indian culture, where even today, kids are never grown up this much where they find themselves eligible for living alone, I accept exceptions are always there. Piku movie showcases the same relationship with a humorous tone, how a career-oriented architect daughter Piku balances between her career and house responsibilities keeping side by side his 70 years old stubborn father’s health at priority.

STORYLINE:-

Piku Banerjee (Deepika Padukone) is an architect living in Delhi and taking care of her 70-year old father Bhashkor(Amitabh Bachchan). Bhashkor has permanent chronic constipation and correlates every problem to his bowel movements. Piku tries her best to take care of her father along with her job. She knows very well that may be loneliness or fear of being neglected, made her father a bit selfish that he does not let Piku marry to someone or even love. Besides, many disagreements, compromises, and endless nok jhok they both are strong support for each other. When Piku wants to sell their ancestral home Champa Kunj in their native place Kolkata on which Bhashkor does not agree, to cancel the deal decided to go Kolkata via road. Piku is not ready to send her father alone takes leave from the job and booked a cab from a travel agency where she gets a driver Rana Chaudhary (Irrfan Khan) who later came out as a great companion for Bhaskhor also solved many of his queries and problems related to constipation, whereas Piku and Rana also enjoy each other company. Watching her father happy and cheerful in his own city and home Piku changed her mind of selling the home.

LESSONS:-

1).  Excess thinking of any problem barred the ways to reach the solution. Bhaskhor overthinking of his chronic constipation problem usually leads to his other problems like BP.

2). Our parent needs us when they grow old, bear with them if they throw tantrums just to grab your attention and care, patience is all that needed utmost in that hour, at the same time be ready to solve their queries no matter how often they repeat the things.

3). In taking care of parents do not forget to take care of yourself, time will not serve you anything in separate, whatever you have, it is today, enjoy it to the fullest.

4). Daughters are no less than son when it comes to their parents, they are equally capable of taking care of their parents for the whole life by serving their duty on the job also.

5). Age is just a number, a kick for adventure can hit you anytime, must experience it.

That is all for today see you tomorrow with another impressive character. Till then have a happy reading, leave with your comments and promise to be back tomorrow!!
