Second Inning Of YESTERYEARS On-Screen #A2ZofBollywood

Oh, what a sad News I just heard that today Bollywood has lost his one of the finest talents of this era i.e. IRRFAN KHAN, May the divine soul Rest in Peace.

Y FOR YESTER YEAR’S ACTOR

Just 1 day to go to accomplish the Goal. On the second last day of A2Z Challenge, I dug on some yesteryear actors, who made a come back to the silver screen after a decade or some just a couple of years however they embarked their second inning with the same spark and zeal and proved to the world that age is just a number talent does not need any pillar to stand on if you really have, you will slay it. Although there are many renowned actors who made even a louder come back than their young days, I will be discussing a few who flummoxed us by their power-packed performance in various characters.

Here are my 5 exceptional, astonishing choice of characters:-

1). MITHUN CHAKRABORTY:- Mithun Chakraborty was back in action on Television as a Grandmaster on TV reality show ‘Dance India Dance’ and set the benchmark as a judge with his unique way of The Grand Salute. After many years of a break, his come back from has raised the bar of competition for all the second inners, although he kept continuing his projects in Bengali Cinema, He has played many memorable and experimental characters both ways positive and negative for instance “Chandni Chowk To China”, “Golmaal Again”, “Kick” etc. His role in the movie OMG as Leeladhar Swamy truly stunned the audience.

2). RISHI KAPOOR:- Rishi Kapoor a chocolaty hero of the 70s and 80s is now impartially eliciting his fans way more in his second inning. In fact, in an interview with Times of India even Actor Rishi Kapoor himself admits that “For the first 25 years of my career, I did nothing but sing and dance. In my second innings, I have got the chance to act”. His experiments with his looks in every movie are outstanding be it, Rauf Lala, from Agnipath or Dadu from Kapoor and Sons or Murad Ali Mohammed of Mulk or Goldman from D-day or Babulal Vakharia from 102 Not Out Rishi Kapoor left no stone unturned in amusing his viewer.

3). RAKHI GULZAR:- Rakhi is another beautiful prominent lead actress who made her come back as a mother on the silver screen in her second inning. Rakhi never took a break from her passion for acting. though from 1990 she turned the diameter of her acting by portraying the mother role of leads in the movies. She received laurels for her iconic performance in the movie Karan Arjun, Baazigar, Badshah, Ram Lakhan, Duplicate, Saugandh, etc. Her distinguished dialogue from the movie Karan Arjun ” Mere Karan Arjun Ayenge, Dharti Ka Seena Cheer KE Aayenge”, has become her identity, rather commonly used as the most lovable humorous satire.

4). WAHEEDA REHMAN:- One of the most talented, Versatile actress of 70s Waheeda started her second innings after almost 12years of her appearance in the movie Lamhe(1991). Her indigenous style of acting can make anyone so connected to the characters she played. In the movie Rang De Basanti(2006 )the way Waheeda Ji has projected the pain and dare altogether, of an elderly mother, to fight back against injustice, was commendable and enough to give you goosebumps. She also played the grandmother in Delhi6(2009), some of her famous movies are Om Jai Jagdeesh, Park Avenue her skills in the movies were critically acclaimed.

5). AMITABH BACHCHAN:- Second inning? Who does the second inning again as a HERO? I tell you The Legends aka Angry Young Man aka Big B aka Shahenshah aka Amitabh Bachchan surely do, he is best at it. There was a time when Amitabh Bachchan was dealing with the toughest phase of his life where he was almost declared Bankrupt, that was the time he made his come back through the famous Game Show on “Kaun Banega Crorepati” on Television now he becomes the face of the Show, and then countless endorsements, endless movies, once again Megastar manifested the world “wo jaha khade hote hai line wahi se shuru hoti hai”, he has shown the way of hosting the show on Television to many actors. At this age he keeps entertaining us not only through his movies but also by his poems and his active presence on the social medial, he is a prime example of the fact that age is just a mere number if you have the will to learn new things be young at heart. Millennium Star continues amazing us with his different trials in shades of characters in every movie, from which some are like Auro from Paa, Cheeni Kam, Mohabbatein, Baghban, Bunty Aur Babli, Kaante, Aankhe etc.

That is all for today see you tomorrow with another rousing character. Till then have a happy reading, leave with your comments, and promise to be back tomorrow!!
