XTRA Dose of Laughter #A2ZofBollywood

X FOR XTRA FUN

Ahha! only 2 letters more and this A2Z challenge will end, I am going to miss so many good things apart from my extremely hectic days, like these movie character’s analysis, to hit the publish button daily, lovely encouraging comments from my lovely co-bloggers, etc. Nonetheless, as the Showman of the Bollywood Late Mr.Raj Kapoor said, “the show must go on”, so Yes Here is my Xtra Dose Of Laughter. Yesterday I discussed the third wheel characters (antagonist/protagonist) of different genres of movies from my list. Today I purveyed some characters from the comedy genre movies itself except the one i.e. RUN movie character, despite sensibly distributed screen hour among all artists under the same umbrella of comedy these chosen characters left a deep remark among the audience by their excelled performance.

1). CRIME MASTER GOGO FROM ANDAZ APNA APNA(1994):- Who can forget Shakti Kapoor’s iconic villainous performance as crime master GOGO in superhit movie Andaz Apna Apna. Which has given us innumerable laughter dose with the tinge of antagonism; His hilarious dialogues, “Crime Master Gogo Naam hai mera, aankhen nikal ke gotiyan khelta hun main”, rigged out to be the everlasting dialogue. In a movie where not only main leads but all supporting characters were asked to move on the same comedy track but obviously with a different pitch, pace, and volume, but in the end, the audience did not come out of the theatres alone instead they took away Crime Master GOGO avtaar with them forever.

2). BABU RAO GANPATRAO APTE FROM HERA PHERI(2000):- “Ye babu Bhai ka style hai” I am sure this dialogue will not let you forget about Babu Bhaiya, a poor landlord of two rival clever lads. In the making of the most admirable superhit comic gag of Bollywood Baburao Ganpatrao Apte has played an inevitable role, his hilarious dialogues and unbeatable dialogue delivery wrapped in the Marathi tone aided to a high extent in racking up the spot in the list of evergreen comedy characters. Actor Paresh Rawal has emoted Babu Rao on the silver screen, I won’t be wrong if I say that this character was the crux of the whole movie.

3). GANESH (Vijay Raj) IN RUN(2004):- Run movie is the film starring Abhishek Bachchan and Bhumika Chawla, unfortunately, could not do well at the box office, strange part of the movie is it is not remembered because of the lead casts or the storyline if anything to which audience can still connect that is the character Ganesh childhood friend of Male lead, played by the actor Vijay Raaz. Most of us, still laugh our hearts out watching the snippets of Vijay Raaz’s scenes over and over again who knows how to hold the attention of the audience with his unblemished timing of comic.

4). BANDYA FROM CHUP CHUP KE(2006):- Again it was not the movie but a character Bandya who stole the limelight. Comedy actor Rajpal Yadav’s outstanding performance pulls off the scene by defeating the presence of many veterans and even young actors in the same frame. Bandya is an innocent fool who is always at the wrong place at the wrong time. The entire plot of the film is made more interesting because of him only. Neither the movie nor the leads could able to make the mark but Bandya’s quirky dialogues have given the reason to remember the movie.

5). UDAY AND MAJNU BHAI FROM WELCOME(2007):-Aaloo le lo, kaanda le lo” do you remember this first-ever and only dialogue of Uday Shetty’s(Nana Patekar) debut break in the movie Welcome, Haha! How could I forget Majnu Bhai(Anil Kapoor) if there is a discussion of Uday? Yes, the great Majnu Bhai who had made our belly laugh. Again A superhit movie from the comedy genre, where these two characters still able to keep the audience hooked till the end to their TV screen.

6). PAPPI JI FROM TANU WEDS MANU(2011) &TWMR(2015):- Deepak Dobriyal played the role of Pappi in both the series of Tanu Weds Manu for which he earned a lot of praise and also won an IIFA Award for Best Performance in a comic role. Usually, the audience fails to remember the lead’s buddy but be it is Pappi ji’s over smartness in professor coat or his innocent love for a samosa or his sarcastic chant of Jai Mata Di, he has managed to make his talent recognizable.

DEEPAK DOBRIYAL AS PAPPIJI

7). CHOOCHA FROM FUKREY(2013):- Although Fukrey being a comedy genre movie where the plot was placed to share an equal range of comedy by every character present in the movie I found Choocha (Varun Sharma) as the most influential character among all. Even if it was with his unique character of dream watcher which presumed to be helpful for his friends to get the clue of solutions or his tricks to please Bholi Punjaban(Richa Chaddha) Choocha acclaimed every bit he appears on the screen. I did not watch Fukrey 2(2017) as it could not touch the level of Part 1.

VARUN SHARMA AS CHOOCHA

That is all for today see you tomorrow with another stirring character. Till then have a happy reading, leave with your comments, and promise to be back tomorrow!!
